The Purpose of Activities of Friends of Gracious

According to statistics, 40% of the villagers in Mazabuka, (the small village where Pookie built the hospital) are said to be HIV positive. During the rainy season, malaria takes the life of many people in the village. Pookie and his wife, Gracious, also started running an orphanage to take care of children who lost their parents to HIV/AIDS and malaria.Some of the children carry the HIV virus; others are in extreme condition of malnutrition. Nevertheless, every child who comes to the orphanage is looked after with loving care of Gracious and her staff. The ultimate purpose of Friends of Gracious is to support the operation of the orphanage and provide the Zambian children with a chance for life and better environment.
